While we have included M3 info for earlier models, the E90 M3 engine is much different and would be much more difficult to cover than models in the past.

Really lame. To be honest i think it has something to do with supply and demand. It seems very few E9x M3 owners are into doing things themselves, especially so given that the platform is only recently beginning to get out of warranty. Just look at the disappointing DIY section on this forum compared to that of other cars as an example. The best bet would be BMW's online TIS. That is technically the official service manual, and what dealers use.

The problem is that it's subscription only and for a limited time. It would be good if someone was able to figure out how to download the whole thing and save it as a pdf file.

Mounting engine on assembly stand (S65) Special tools required:. 00 2 300. 11 5 260 Necessary preliminary tasks:. Remove engine. Remove rear water pipe. Secure special tool 11 5 260 to crankcase with bolts (2).
